Greene Hill School has a number of working committees that support the school and our mission. These committees are open to parents, staff and other members of the community. A member of the board or school director serves on each committee. A brief description of the committees follows.

Curriculum

The Curriculum Committee functions to support staff and families in the education of our children. This committee provides direct support for the school through tasks such as arranging field trips, establishing relationships and coordinating with community based organizations, building the school library, and organizing and facilitating opportunities for family education and involvement.

Development and Finance

The Development and Finance Committee is charged with overseeing all aspects of business related to the generation of income and expenditure of money. This committee will be responsible for fundraising efforts, including individual appeals, events, and grant writing. This committee will also work with the treasurer and other consultants on the budget and coordinating purchases.

Diversity Committee

The Diversity Committee is charged with developing and executing strategies that create a diverse Greene Hill School community. This includes working with the development and finance committee to build an endowment. This committee's work will also involve marketing and community outreach to make sure that all segments of our local community have access to Greene Hill School.

Governance

This committee establishes systems of governance and communication that will facilitate a democratic learning environment. The committee will create documents to foster clear communication including a parent handbook, a staff handbook, admissions and tuition policies.

Marketing and Public Relations

As we develop a public identity for the school, this committee will be concerned with creating brochures, a web site and other important informational pieces about Greene Hill School. The school is dedicated to building strong relationships with businesses and cultural organizations in the community and this committee will be deeply involved in fostering these connections. The committee will explore other opportunities, like newspaper articles and special events, for getting the word out about the school.

Real Estate

Initially the role of the Real Estate Committee will be to locate and secure a long-term space for the school. Once that has been accomplished this committee will continue to remain involved with the renovation and maintenance of the space. Since Greene Hill School will be growing over the next few years and is not likely to start in its ultimate space, this committee will continue to explore real estate options that support the sustainable growth of the school.
